Mark and Maks jointly own the Coffee Lab
Following the destructive flood of January 2016, the dental practice, owned by Mark was reimagined; with the resulting extension and redesign creating a large unused space underneath.
Mark's son-in-law, Maks, had worked for many years in the hospitality sector - most recently in an Aberdeen coffee shop.
The available empty shell under the practice and Maks' previous experience would combine to become the genesis of "Coffee Lab": a dog-friendly coffee shop in the centre of Ellon.
Maks' chocolate Labrador, Obi-Wan, provided the inspiration for the café name and logo.
The location, beside the river walk is already a popular choice for dog-walking, joggers and folks just enjoying a leisurely riverside stroll. It is ideal as a welcoming space for dog-owners and non dog-owners alike, with relaxing views across the river.
Following months of careful planning; investment in state of the art café equipment; interior design and the creation of a menu they believed would hit the spot, Maks and Mark launched their very own café.
They sincerely hope it will be enjoyed by all who visit - with or without their pets! :)
